Originally I started with this project for a school assignment where we had to create an immersive space. The concept of it immediately struck me as something I had to develop further on a personal level. So after the assignment, with some great base images in hand, I went ballistic.
I was toying with this concept a few times before, so when the assignment popped up I saw my chance of combining that with personal gain. The results are three surreal artworks and one absolutely bizarre project. With it I tried to reflect our inner beasts, better yet: I wanted to show you the surreal environment my designer mind occasionally dwindles to.
Music was a large contributor when it comes to inspiration during this project, I even ended up adding some texts to the pieces from the song “Artificial Paradise” by the band Sylvan.
In a vaporous world - an appearance so bright
where the people are blurred and hard to visualise
In inscrutable lands with asynchronous time
we are living alone and still dehumanised
Different faces on the other side in our artificial paradise
In a world full of fates and illusions - do you see them?
