Design for music:

This is the CD packaging design I made for the “Elektro Shaman” record of Baraná, which is as they call it a; “Festival set with electrifying trance music, inspired by the shamanistic roots of Turkish music.”
To help promote this record Baraná asked me to translate the CD design onto a flyer as well.

This project is one I am particularly excited about because it embodies a total package of designs.
Amateur Blonde Music (Ryan Roger O'Toole) hired me to create a whole bunch of graphic designs for his self-titled record. For the release of his record I designed a 12" vinyl sleeve, CD design, 6 unique poster prints, business cards and a t-shirt artwork. Like a said; an entire package of promotional materials.

This is the cover art I designed for The Rabbit Hole Project and their EP named: Mental Maladies and Maladjusted Melodies. The title alone probably says a lot; their music and story are quite heavy.

These are the CD packaging and record sleeve I designed for jazz artist Rob Mostert’s album ‘Englewood Cliffs Sessions’, which he recorded with the legendary Blue Note recording engineer: Rudy van Gelder. This project started out with a design for the digisleeve CD release and after I finished that they asked me to design the 12” vinyl edition as well. It was an awesome project to work on and I was stoked when Rob and his label commissioned me for it. This was also the first time I had the opportunity to create a 12” vinyl design for an actual release.

A while back I was commissioned to create the tour poster and flyer for Petra Berger’s tour: Touched by Streisand. The artwork I made was so well received that they decided to use it for the album as well. These are the flyer, poster and CD designs I made.

This fantastic project is one with a long story behind it. In a nutshell: Andrew Danso asked me to work on the design of his second album back in February 2010. After a few sketches, concepts, an actual finished design and a year’s waiting we decided to revamp the entire thing in February this year (2011). The result of that decision is the album artwork you now see before you. I’m excited to finally share the album artwork I made for Andrew’s album called: Find.

These are the cover designs I made for L Rock’s album named: Return to the Self. Cam Cam Productions commissioned me to design the artwork for this album, which will be digitally released and only needed a front and back cover design. L Rock is a Dutch hip-hop/R&B artist also known from his work under the name: Don't Accept Mass Notion.

The band Tera from Northern Ireland asked me to do the CD design for their album: Forerunner.
They felt like there should be a spaced, weird, weightless, somber, dark, nature/natural and sad element to reflect their music in an image. This was mainly because of the story they bring forth with this album.

This is my very first exhibit submission for the online art collective Heartsurge and the newest exhibition named: Awakening. For this artwork I used an entirely different way of working, instead of focusing on color I weighed heavily on the composition and the object of focus.

I’ve made this poster design for the WMC Fest, fully named the: Weapons of Mass Creation Fest. The WMC Fest is an incredible event to inspire and enable the creative mind with 20 speakers, 20 designers and 20 bands brought to you by GoMedia.

During the first two weeks of April 2011 the annual exposition Beeldend Veenendaal was held, making this year the 15th edition of the event. With this exposition the art platform of Veenendaal provides local artists with an opportunity to exhibit their work. This year I was one of the participants in the exposition, all artists we’re allowed to submit one artwork and I created and submitted this surreal and abstract piece.

This artwork was formed through the collaborative efforts of me and Polish photographer Damian Muszkiet . He contacted me via the Behance network asking me if I was interested in doing a collaboration artwork. His photographic work really appealed to me so I decided to go ahead and bundle my skills with his and create a unique work of art with him. Based on Damian’s photographs I created this A3 poster design.

Collaboration artwork and poster design

With this artwork I wanted to go in a different direction, I wanted to create something more abstract/less ‘general’ than usual and give it more meaning. In this piece I mostly focused on blending various elements into one, forming an object or perhaps a new city (“Novgorod”) of imagination. I absolutely enjoyed creating this manipulative piece and shaping it to actually represent something.

This artwork is a collaboration between me and Mexican photographer Jenaro de Rosenzweig Dyckhoff .
He approached me via the Behance network and we decided to team-up and create an abstract piece of art combining our disciplines.

Collaboration artwork and poster design

This is a personal artwork, a poster design and the result of some random sketching. I was merely experimenting with some photo manipulation and in an inspired flow of mind created this piece.

The Odds

Poster design

This artwork gradually evolved into my own personal identity design. It started purely as a personal experiment, an artwork where I was toying with various shapes and colors in order to create an abstract and underground vibe. Underground in the sense of literally under the ground, a surreal world of fantasy.

Subterranean

Personal identity artwork

Music often stimulates my flow of mind, occasionally it sparks an idea from out of the blue for reasons still unknown to me. It does not always reflect the music itself, sometimes it’s a completely different image I get, but it’s still the music that set the creative juices to stir. Could it be anymore vague? I guess so, however, to get to the point: these dark and abstract artworks are what came out of such a spark.
