Creative festival OFFSET 2012 Dublin
After some heavy pondering I finally decided to attend the OFFSET event in Dublin this March, a 3 days long creative event about art and design. The list of speakers is absolutely amazing so I just couldn’t miss out. There are a lot of speakers that will definitely have some inspiring and motivating talks. Here are some that I totally want to check out. (I’m going to make this post something that I could’ve filed under ‘inspirational’ on my blog as well.)

Olly Moss, a brilliant illustrator who I’ve been watching for some time now. Mostly due to his massive collection of kickass movie poster designs. Very powerful stuff, his illustrations are strikingly good in capturing the movie’s essence with minimal shapes and color.

Erik Kessels, a Dutch hero from the KesselsKramer agency. I’ve seen a lot of his stuff first hand because KesselsKramer has worked for some major Dutch brands. Very interested in the communications side of design and I’m sure he’s got quite a story about that.

Shepard Fairey – OBEY. Need I say more? I mean, you know I’m a huge fan of street art so this is kind of obvious. At least it is for me. Aside from that this guy also has sick illustrator skills. Very stoked to check out his talk.

Richard Gilligan, a photographer obsessed about skateboarding. I’ve been a boarder when I was young and I’m still a fan of boarding. So I’m sure you can imagine why I’m interested in his talk; just curious to find out if he topics on his skateboarding preference. I’m also quite interested just to seeing a photographer’s talk for a change, that’s a first.

Conor Harrington. More street art, hell-yeah! Conor has a very distinct style and he’s not just about street art. His street art however did interest me.

Of course there are many more speakers and awesome creative persons, so you should really check this out and attend the festival if you can. Events like these are incredibly motivational and inspiring, so it’s totally worth your time and effort. I can’t wait to have my brain overload with awesomeness and a ton of new ideas, I’m sure OFFSET will trigger me into a “make shit happen” spree.
Like last year, with OFFF Barcelona, I will be teaming up with Erik Wiegers on this one. This time Thijs Brouwers will be accompanying us as well. If you’re coming and you’d like to meet up, let me know on Facebook or via Twitter!
